HOW TO DRINK THROUGH A STRAW! I know that may sound like an unimportant feat to some of you, but we've been trying since she turned one! Last night, Ryan, Ryland, and I went out to dinner with my dad (Big Papa) and she did it! I was so excited!
Ryland and I also went to a Baby Shower yesterday. Ryland had a fantastic time playing with everyone. I forgot my camera, but someone else took pictures, so as soon as their emailed to me, I will post them. I took home 3 prizes from the shower games, much to the chagrin of the other guests, but, look, I'll admit it - I love shower games and I love winning. I'm not going to apologize for that. I figure if I'm buying a gift for a baby I've yet to meet, at least I should try to win as much as I can.
Sidenote: Ryan and I dusted off the Clue game last night. I let him win since I won so many shower games earlier in the day (I'm not THAT competitive).

I know, I know
No updates yesterday. Sorry. My update today is that I spent this afternoon charging the camera battery, so tomorrow I promise some pictures and maybe even a video. Until then, our girl is sleeping . . .

New Year . . .

So, here's what's new:
- Ryland turned 14 months on Friday. I can't believe how time flies. I used to think that this was something that just old people say, now I realize that it's something I genuinely believe . . . does this mean I'm an old person now?!
- Ryland's favorite thing to do now is dance - and she can dance to ANYTHING. This morning she heard some Bollywood music and started cutting a rug. She's really good - must get that from me.
- Ryland has discovered that things go in the garbage can and will put WHATEVER you give her into the trash. This week I've found: a jean skirt, a potholder, a shirt, and a wooden spoon. Ironically, this week we have lost our camera's battery charger (don't fear grandparents - I just bought a new one off Ebay) and Sabrina's leash. I wonder where they could be . . .
- Yesterday during Ryland's afternoon nap she decided that sleeping with a diaper on was overrated. Coincidentally, we had a crib that looked like a puppy's kennel to deal with.
